THE DECISION

When making a decision to build, the decisions which need to be made can very easily overwhelm you.  We pride ourselves on being one of the best builders on the Atherton Tablelands and provide you with the below home building tips which will help you through the building process, even if you do not build with us.

  • Do any of these questions sound familiar:
  • What should our house look like?
  • What colour should it be?
  • Should we do timber floors or tiles?
  • What is in fashion right now?
  • How can I make it trendy, yet not date?
  • How much will this really cost us?
  • What about resale?
  • How do we reach 6 star energy efficiency?
  • How do I know that I am getting the best quality?

EVALUATE BUILDER CREDIBILITY

Does the builder have a ‘good name’ in the area in which the builder operates?

SECURE A GUARANTEED START DATE

Delayed start dates can leaving you waiting and wanting… Get a “guaranteed start” date in writing and you will move in when you plan to.

SECURE A GUARANTEED FINISH DATE

Most Builders will assure you that your new home should be built within a certain timeframe although it’s best to get a date in writing. Delayed finishes can cause stress through uncertainty of misleading timeframes, additional interest, rent and storage costs.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT LOOK

Everyone wants their new home to reflect their very own personal taste and style. Look for opportunities to personalise in the early stages by asking about your façade options. Make your house different and personal.

CONSIDER USING A QUALIFIED INTERIOR DESIGNER

Don’t guess what you think looks good… rely on qualified advice from a professional Interior Designer and let them guide your colour process and fixture selection.

COMPARE “STANDARD” INCLUSIONS

Be sure to choose a builder that believes all the options you put into your home are your choice, not forced upon you as “Standard Inclusions” with little or no refund if you don’t require them.  We are very flexible in this area and would want you to have the best inclusions for your investment.

ENSURE YOU COME FIRST

Remember that the house you are buying will be your home. So ensure that the service you receive is professional and that they listen to your every request.

QUALITY, NOT QUANTITY

“Standard” appliances, fixtures and fittings can be a cheap bulk inclusion. Look for appliances, fixtures and fittings from brands that you recognise & know are quality.

GET THE RIGHT LOAN

Having a loan tailor made to your individual needs and requirements can save you thousands of dollars. Look for financial services that offer a range of comprehensive, flexible finance packages with access to a range of major lending institutions.

A HOME TO MATCH YOUR LIFESTYLE

Look for distinct architectural vision and design flair that suits you and your environment. Outdoor areas for entertaining or children’s retreats are great examples of home lifestyle choices.  We can refer you to local award winning designers who will design a home taking into account your needs and the block you wish to build on.
